MEET THE STAFF AT CCRC  
 
STAFF MEMBERS  
Cyndi Lucier:  Director of Operations and Assistant to the President.  Cyndi has performed accounting for Apted-Hulling, Inc. for the past 19 years.  She has spent the last two years in the billing department at Creve Coeur Racquet Club where she is responsible for coordinating membership accounts. 
 
   
Maurice Nelson:  Kitchen Manager. Maurice is originally from Jamaica and attended Port Maria High School.  He started his career at the five star resort Plantation Inn, in Ocho Rios, Jamaica where he was trained in the culinary arts for three years and then moved on to work for Stellar Cruise Services.  After making a name for himself overseas, he moved to America and has made St. Louis his home since 1997.  Please visit the dining room and enjoy one of Maurice’s worldly creations.

TENNIS PROFESSIONALS  

Alan Douglas:  CCRC Director of Tennis.

Alan returned to CCRC in the fall of 2000 after a 12-year absence. He is formerly a #1 ranked doubles player in the St. Louis District. Alan has been the Head Tennis Director at Sunset Country Club since 1993 and has been on the Wilson Advisory Staff since 1983. Alan enjoys working with all levels of juniors and adults. His primary objective is to improve the junior intermediate tournament level players.

Jim Hammond 

Tennis professional and USPTA member, Jim Hammond, joined the CCRC staff of professionals over the summer of 2005, bringing with him 20 years of teachng and playng experience.  As a 5.0 USTA Men's team member, Jim's experience as a player has led him to national tournament competitions. His flexible teaching chedule, laid back style and knowledge of the game make him a strong team member and great addition to the CCRC teaching staff. 

Melisa Lemus

Melisa returned to Creve Coeur Racquet Club upon completion of her masters at West Florida.  Her energy, passion for tennis and athletic ability are a great addition to the teaching staff of Creve Coeur Racquet Club.  Melisa is a superior role model for other young athletes and offers diversity to our training programs that keep them on the cutting edge.  Most often you will find Melisa on the road, literally, she rides her bike everywhere she goes! Accreditations:  Certified USPTR (2003), University of West Florida Assistant Coach (2004-2005), B.S. Exercise Science from St. Louis University (2004), Masters Exercise Science from Univeristy of West Florida, Currently working in Masters in Physical Therapy at St. Louis Univeristy  Tennis:  Former World Ranked (WTA)#720 in singles and #600 Doubles, Captain of St. Louis University Tennis Team Competing at #1 Singles and Doubles (2003), Named All American NAIA (2000-2001), Ranked as High as #3 in Argentina (Under 18 Division) (1998)

 

Mandy Walker 

Mandy recently moved to St. Louis from Springfield, MO, where she was a tennis pro at Highland Springs Country Club for nine years. She was PTR certified in 1999 and enjoys teaching tennis to kids of all ages! Mandy played singles and doubles for Drury College, was a Missouri State Top 10 player in singles and doubles, and was ranked in the Top 10 in the Missouri Valley District for several years as a junior player.

 

Steve Wall 

A native St. Louisian, Steve returns to CCRC after a 2 year absence.  Formerly a top 5 ranked player locally and sectionally, Steve had a successful collegiate career at Southeast Missouri State and Southern Methodist University.  He worked at the John Newcombe Tennis Academy for 10 years, where he coached such future stars as Lleyton Hewitt and Mariana Lucic.  Steve enjoys working with junior and adults of all ages and experience levels, where he feels he can pass on his true love and passion for the game of tennis.

 

Arky Leonard

Tennis Professional.  Arky is a former top ten singles and doubles player in the St. Louis area.  He played tennis for Jefferson Junior College, winning an all-conference trophy, where he would later be the coach of a team that would be regional champs and make two trips to the national junior college tennis tournament in Scottsdale, Arizona.  At Southeast Missouri State University, form which he graduated, he was the number one singles player for two years and captain his senior year.  He taught numerous adult tennis classes for Jefferson College and ran lessons for children in his home town of Festus for several years.  For fifteen summers Arky was the tennis instructor for the National Youth Sports Program at Forest Park Community College where he was awarded “Coach Of The Year” three times.

 

Patrick Morris

Tennis Professional.  Patrick is a 2000 Texas High School State Champion; 2001 Texas High School State Runner up; 2003-06 First Team ALL SLIAC Conference Singles/Doubles player; 2004 Roddick Tennis Academy teaching pro / hitting partner in San Antonio, Texas; 2006 USTA National Tennis Center High Performance Program teaching Pro/Hitting Partner in Flushing Meadows, New York; 2005-06 Participant in the Satellite Professional Tennis Tournaments; 2006 USTA Director of Junior Development / Junior Programs for Arkansas and during the summer of 2007, Patrick was the Director of Tennis / Head Pro at Triple A Golf and Tennis Club in St. Louis. 

 

Kristina Burleson

Tennis Professional.  Kristina was born in Russia, January 16, 1981 and moved to California at the age of 11.  She was ranked top 10 in Juniors (CAL) and as high as 25 in the Girls' 18 Nationals.   Kristina graduated from the University of Missouri in 2004 on a full Tennis Scholarship; She has had the 2nd most wins in Mizzou history!  She has coached tennis leagues and camps through her career and assisted with individual lessons at Mizzou Green Tennis Center.   During her 5th year of college, Kristina assisted Blake Starkey - Mizzou's Head Tennis Coach with team practice.  A fun fact:  Kristina had a star roll in a USTA Tennis commercial during the 1996 US Open.

 

Cynthia Brightfield Bick

Tennis Professional.  CCRC welcomes Cyndi back to St. Louis.  Cyndi's accomplishments include the Missouri High School State Championships as a player at St. Joseph's Academy and the winner of the Outstanding Student Athlete Award as a player at Northwestern University.  Recently, Cyndi teamed with her brother, Ken Brightfield, to win the Mixed Doubles City Championship.   Her teaching experience includes camps in Republic of China ('79, '80), Huron High School Girls Varsity Tennis Team and Club Instruction at Kettering Tennis Center (Dayton, OH), Huron Valley Tennis Club (Ann Arbor, MI), and Laurel Hill Tennis Club (Toledo, OH).  Cyndi hopes to contribute to CCRC's tennis by teaching on weekends, evenings and during the summer.
